Safe Families grew out of years of public health and cancer prevention work in the Midwest. Our founder served as Chair of the Indiana Cancer Consortium, where one pattern kept surfacing in the data: lung cancer was killing people who had never smoked. The research pointed to radon an invisible, odorless gas that seeps into homes from the ground and the Midwest is one of the highest-risk regions in the country.
The problem wasn't the science. It was access. EPA zone maps were buried on government websites. Testing guidance was fragmented. Most families had no idea they were at risk. So we built the Radon Report Card a free tool that turns verified federal data into a simple AโF grade any homeowner can understand and act on.
